What You Should Know About Real Estate Business Protocol During COVID-19

4 Weeks Into The New Normal
My team and I understand these are stressful and uncertain times for everyone. Businesses have closed their doors, people are self-isolating. Many folks currently have no income stream; those who are able to continue working, have had to dramatically change. The ‘new normal' is learning proper protocol with PPE and distancing, working from home, limiting hours of operations, figuring out how we can all move forward, remaining safe, and being creative. The goal is to get us all moving again, safely!
Success Is Found In Being Safe
As a people-centered business, Realtors have had to face these challenges head-on, and I’m grateful to still have an opportunity to work. That said, being part of a family which includes immuno-compromised members, I’m hugely aware of the protocols which must be followed and the challenges they present as business moves forward. Real estate traditionally involves a lot of face-to-face and/or group communication, but social distancing is crucial right now. That’s why I’ve wholeheartedly adopted the strict protocols of the, ‘Stay Home- Stay Healthy’ mandate, and going above and beyond for our safety.
How Is The Market Reacting?
Interest rates are still quite low, buyers and sellers are on-line in record numbers. Refinances are at an all time high. Sellers are looking as to when they can list. There is a lot of pent-up demand from Buyers waiting for inventory to improve. People are asking always, “how is the market?” So, it has occurred to us that you may be wondering, whether buyers and sellers are still moving forward with their plans at this time. The answer is yes - while strictly following protocol, especially as it pertains to Real Estate Brokers. We must limit in-person real estate brokerage services and maintain that which is essential, yet safe, when working during this time.
Part Of The Protocol Which Must Be Followed:
- In-person activities must be by appointment only
- No more than two people, including the broker, may be at the property at any one time; and
- Those two persons must strictly follow social distancing guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by remaining at least six feet apart at all times.

I take these protocols very seriously and go even further, implementing additional safety measures to make sure that we all stay safe and healthy. I am with proper sanitizer, masks, gloves and Clorox wipes. When not required to meet clients in person, (staying at least 6 feet apart, probably 10 feet apart, lol ) I’m working from home; creating virtual walkthrough and 3D technology to virtually show the homes. The new standards for primary communication styles are now virtual (Zoom, Skype), phone, text and email. We can have a face-to-face meetings without leaving your home. Eye ball to eye ball. I am very excited about that! I have been doing this and clients love it. It is easy and smooth!
Personal Support
I am staying up-to-date with all breaking news regarding the virus. I’m supporting local businesses and those who have been negatively impacted by the pandemic however I can. Your health and safety are my top priority! And so are your dreams and aspirations! As stressful as this time is, I want you to know that we, my team and I, are maintaining a positive attitude and working harder than ever for our clients. We’re all in this together. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any comments, questions, or concerns you may have, and I look forward to helping you move forward with buying, selling, or investing in real estate in a safe and healthy manner!
